I have been watching a bit of Virgin River on Netflix this week, and there was a large wildfire that meant residents’ evacuation (I won’t share more in case spoiler alert).
But it made me think.
If that happened, what would I gather?
I looked around, really trying hard to think of what was where in draws, cupboards etc.
And the only 2 things that I would grab and take with me would be my laptop (for biz reasons), and Puss.
Puss is my ‘child’, and despite a fire safety officer once saying to me ”you need to just get out and not worry about her”, that will NEVER happen. She is my baby, and my job is to protect her. She comes with.
But other than her and the laptop…that’s it.
Nothing else (not thinking of the practical element to this, but just the ‘what could I not lose or will not lose’ element)
And it brings it home when you look round and see how much ‘stuff’ we have that at the crux of it, we would dismiss and disregard.
Makes you realise how much we have that, bottom line, would not make the cut.
Thinking a decluttering may be on the cards a little.
Have you ever thought about that?
What would you ‘not be willing to lose’ and, take with you?
What is just ‘stuff’ that could be replaced and isn’t worth risking your life for?
And if it isn’t worth risking your life for, do you actually need some of it period?
