I worked with a cat this afternoon, with in-pet sound healing, who was so much like Puss in her demeanour and attitude to life, it was remarkable.

But the wonderful thing was it meant was that all the learnings I had from helping Puss to the finest detail, came in very handy.

From getting my client to just have a body part touching puss, but not stroking/holding/weighing on her would help her feel safe, to me using my hypnotic voice, calming quiet slow tones, no sudden movements, and observing her very closely and respecting when she told me what she did and didn’t like it made for a good session.

Building Trust

Building her trust with another human was so important, and the way to do that was to respect her, work with her, not to force or co-erce her into anything. She is sensitive, pets are, and they can feel if you are trying to get them to do something else no matter how nicey-nicey you are being, they will feel what is under that action. It was about observing that she was on such high alert even just small movements of the forks would send her into a spin, so everything was slow, orchestrated, gentle movements, tones, voices, respectable distances. Asking her permission to touch, to work, to change frequencies. Letting her know I wouldn’t do anything she didn’t want. Minimising my contact with her so she could just relax, which included staying quiet sometimes too. Just being with her and letting her lead the session in her own time. Control was important to her, as if she is in control it means she feels safe.

Integrating Communication

I was able to communciate with her to know what distance was comfortable for the forks and where she wanted them from her body positions, and to praise her for how amazing she did, given this was her 1st tuning fork session. We had slow blinks (=friendly) and I had those returned.

She also chose to go from outside space to inside to have the session herself as she very likely knew she would settle best in 4 walls and safety. I love it when they guide and tell us in this way. Just perfect!

I was able to tell them so much about kitty from what I had observed and what she told me too, to help her owner understand her better.

I was also able to advise a little more on the environment from having a raised cat bowl for comfort to considering some veterinary treatment for signs of some further issues.

Results

We also had some lovely relaxing going on: heavy eyes, sighs, deep breathing, stretches, little muscle twitches, body unfurling and outstretched, sleep, and she took to me straight away – with some encouraging head bumps (nice!) – which apparently is not normal with strangers and especially women.

And, as normal, the owner was super relaxed at the end of the session too, as they received the frequencies as well as littl’un. Good, huh?

So, now she associates me with good times, relaxation, a feeling she said she had not experienced in a long time (she was a rescue, part-feral) and so next time, she will be more trusting, confident around me, and settled from the off.

When I first arrived, she was on very high alert, having lived her life most of this way, and from a poor start to life. I left with her much more relaxed, in body, mind and spirit.

Just how I like it!

Still a way to go to regulate her nervous system, but a great start for her indeed. As usual, I came away with a lovely warm heart, knowing I have made a difference and begun a trasnformation for this deserving bubba :)
