In the afternoon, I was volunteering again at the Kent County Show for Made in Kent radio.
I got to build on my connections that I made Saturday, and get even more businesses to promote themselves who were there. Met some local canine enrichment sellers so that is always good to have those referrals too, as canine and feline enrichment is important in the work I do, and for pet owners to provide for their pets!
I got to see the heavy horses who I have always loved, as I was brought up going to a Shire Horse Centre as a kid, so to see them and the Clydesdales and Belgians it was wonderful. Of course, they are way above my height, and I am very respectful of that and them. They will have had so many people come up to them during those days, that I do bear that in mind and step back if they need space or no touch.
They were doing a demonstration in the ring shortly after I got there, so were being prepared for that, and one was itching to go, and scraping his front hoof along the ground with frustration as he wanted to just get on with it!
The radio has said I did so well, they would love to have me at other shows which if I am happy to do if I am able to in all ways. It is a lovely organic way to meet people and we get to see the show in the process of going round too, and finding out about more businesses as well as building my own connections.
It was a great way to be around animals, so I really loved that as well.
One thing I have realised since going to Wingham Wildlife Park for my 50th birthday recently was that I really miss being aorund animals more, so I am trying to remedy that.
The alpacas are from Bonnington Farm, and it was lovely to meet them and one of their owners. I am due to have further talks with them and I really look forward to that! But we were talking again how sensitive these creatures are, and how they too mirror our emotional and energetic state! I explained to their owner the science behind that – our heart being an electromagnetic field. They were taken very good care of, and their pens adapted accordingly to ensure they felt safe with so many visitors wanting to see them.
