Another lady i chatted to recently said that her dog was not happy when she left home for a few days. Her dog would vocally and physically express this dissatisfaction to her when she got home.

I said to her “do you tell her when you leave that you are coming back?”

Her: “When I’m leaving the house, just for a few hours or something, I do tell her I won’t be long and I’ll be back soon, but no, come to think of it, I don’t tell her when I am going away”

This lady is now going to implement that conversation and see how it goes.

Sometimes it can be just that simple. Keeping them informed, letting them know.

Especially if they are very sensitive pets, they like to know what’s going on, they don’t like change, and they want to be included.

It’s also very likely someone in the household feels the same, likes to know what’s happening, doesn’t like change, likes their routine, and being included.

The words that came to me as we were speaking were “you left me” and I said to the owner, that this can also sometimes indicate we have abandonment issues to that we need to heal. They could resonate with what I was saying.
