Today I have had the lovely opportunity to work with several dogs with animal communication.
With one doggie who is pregnant, I first of all learnt a lot more about the nuances of doggie pregnancies! One of them being a sensitivity to heat! The other was her finding her sense of smell was altered during pregnancy.
She got to express what she is going to need when she is in labour and after birth, both from the other pets in the household and also from her owner too. She shared about wanting her owner fully present but also looking after herself too during this time, so she could focus fully on labour, birth and the pups, her ‘job’ if you will. She wanted space, but also agreed that she was happy for her own Doggie-Mum who lives with them to be involved with looking after the pups, but not another dog in the household. It all made sense to her human Mum about why and their personalities too.
Her eating habits have changed and she was very ‘on it’ about ensuring what she was eating was giving her the right nutrition for her pups. She really wants to be a good Mum, so I told her “you are already going to be a super Mum, because you are already thinking about and attentive to their needs”. Also she got to share how she felt about certain foods, likes and dislikes, and why, and of course, I asked her owner to ensure that the foods she was sharing with us that she wanted instead were safe for dogs in pregnancy to eat. Mum’s got a lot of homework to do after our session, but is very happy to!
There were plenty more topics too which if her Mum allows, I will share as a case study in time.
She felt listened to today, and heard, seen and felt. Her feelings, worries, concerns were taken on board and the support she needs in the coming times of labour and birth were taken into consideration and will be adopted, which gave her a sense of relief too.
When she didn’t understand why something was happening, or understand something that Hu-Mum was considering, we let her know why, so she could be in full possession of the facts and decide from there.
This was a two-way communication with this pregnant Mumma being respected and honoured. It was a real privilege to do this session and brought a sense of relief to her, that she was being listened to around what she feels is right for her and her pups.
We will be chatting with her again to check in how she is feeling, whether those needs have changed, and what else she may need or want to discuss or share.
So yes, animal communication can help in pregnancy.
